Before the days of Malls, there were shopping strips. Each store owned by a family, sometimes even a family you knew. The money from these shops provided both income for local employers and for the astute, conscientous businessperson an opportunity to invest in local community infrastructure.
The House attempts to utilise available technology and proactively engage with local and related services. We like to make it easier for our residents to find and enjoy the latest in offers from local businesses before heading off to further fields.
After all, it is the residents that services and business's are set up to serve. It is also to the advantage of every local resident that it's overall community makes the effort of itself to ensure that is has services and products in close proximity. In the past however this has been becoming increasingly difficult for strips to compete with not only major corporate category killers but the centralised major precincts such as Chadstone, Southland and the revitalised CBD as well.
The House allows for traders to list their products and services, events or activities, hours of operation and other relevant details to the benefit of the viewer.
